Add This to Your Christmas List..............

No, I'm not potty training...not yet anyways. From my past experience w/my older 3 ...I didn't push it...then one day by the time they were 3 they woke up and were potty trained...day...poo...night...it all! boom! Seemed too easy I guess.

Enter Lily....she is unlike the other 3 and has new chapters in my parenting book of Lily! I thought though that since she has started to show an interest in the potty and likes to sit on it whenever one of us goes in to 'potty', that it was time to get a chair.

I put it in the downstairs bathroom and told her what it was and that's it. She put a book in there next to it. (copies the adults haha) The other night she brought the potty into the living room w/it on her head like a hat. She kept saying "TT Hat TT Hat" HAHA...ummmm no!

I did venture out and bought her some Gerber Training Pants. I love the thick cotton feel of these.....(my big kids used them to train) I'm not and never have been a fan of pullups....either do it right or not at all! She wanted her big girl panties on today, but only to wear....so I waited a hour or so an panicked and put her back in a diaper. She isn't ready.....not yet!

On to something really fun though....

Laurie Berkner....do you know who she is? Well love love love her! SO does Miss Lil! Think preschool teacher w/a guitar having music time! I was so glad that she has a dvds out. If not I was going to write her and tell her I needed one asap!

She has a collection of fun silly songs that has Lily moving to the beat. Here is a video I took about a month ago of Wild Child when she first watched Laurie!

Finally I bought the dvd and wild thang sings and jumps and spins and acts out all the songs! Def worth the $13! You should put it on your child's Christmas List. The "Let's hear it for the Laurie Berkner Band" is our favorite one!

I'm On A Roll (Pumpkin Roll)....and 14 Weeks to Go!

Today is Wednesday...You know what that means...In Laws for dinner and my pregnancy week changes! 26 weeks today! woohoo!

Here's the latest belly shot...

Baby is moving bunches....right now he's more of a puncher. Hubs and the big kids have felt him moving and I can't stop giggling how neat it is. I guess no matter how many babies I carry inside each flutter, jab, roll, and pinch is amazing. I'm gonna miss my empty belly when this is all said and done. I always wonder if this is the last one....so I try to relish each and every feeling with each pregnancy!
I have my midwife appt tomorrow...and then after that I'm every 2 weeks!

Dessert for tonight...the fantastic, can't go wrong, knock your socks off, thank you Libby's Pumpkin, b/c you rock Pumpkin Roll!......If you haven't made this then you need to head to the store now and get busy! It's super fun to make and the taste is out of this world! If you don't have time...I'm making 2 of them....you can try and beg for leftovers!

Libby's Pumpkin Roll
Ingredients
  • 4 cup powdered sugar (to sprinkle on towel)
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup LIBBY'S® 100% Pure Pumpkin
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
  • 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar (optional for decoration)

Directions

FOR CAKE:
PREHEAT
oven to 375° F. Grease 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan; line with wax paper. Grease and flour paper. Sprinkle a thin, cotton kitchen towel with powdered sugar.

COMBINE flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt in small bowl. Beat eggs and granulated sugar in large mixer bowl until thick. Beat in pumpkin. Stir in flour mixture. Spread evenly into prepared pan. Sprinkle with nuts.

BAKE for 13 to 15 minutes or until top of cake springs back when touched. (If using a dark-colored pan, begin checking for doneness at 11 minutes.) Immediately loosen and turn cake onto prepared towel. Carefully peel off paper. Roll up cake and towel together, starting with narrow end. Cool on wire rack.

FOR FILLING:
BEAT
cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar, butter and vanilla extract in small mixer bowl until smooth. Carefully unroll cake. Spread cream cheese mixture over cake. Reroll cake. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least one hour. Sprinkle with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

COOKING TIP:
Be sure to put enough powdered sugar on the towel when rolling up the cake so it will not stick.

Busy Bee Mommy is at it again!!!

I love to bake and cook...no surprise there.....
I'm also an avid reader. I read a couple of books a week. But when I'm nursing...I usually read more...I have a book going upstairs by the nursing chair....(and a book light for when it's dark in the room for those middle of the night feedings) and another book downstairs. (I'm weird)

Reading calms me....I love getting lost in a good book. Thankfully my MIL shares my passion b/c most of my books come from her. I've got a list of series I'll gladly recommend that I enjoyed if you need something to read....

As for one of my fav authors...Debbie Macomber...I think I've read everything of hers.....I love a good sappy tame romance. Did any of you catch the Hallmark Movie last winter called "Mrs Miracle"? Well Debbie wrote another one and Hallmark is going to show it in December too! It's called "Call me Mrs Miracle" WOOHOO...I just finished the book in 2nds flat and sobbed like a baby at the end! It was wonderful!!! Def can't wait for hubs and I to watch this one! I love my man...he sets the dvr to record those Holiday Hallmark movies starting in November for me! (Love you)

Point of the story? Well Debbie also wrote a series called Cedar Cove...and she even made a cookbook. Well I can't turn that down....inside it is really neat...esp if you read the books....There was a sugar cookie recipe that was quicker and easier than mine and I had to try it out! I'm going to be making some cookies for a baby shower in a few weeks and needed practice....

Here is the after school treat I made for the kids today!!! The cookie recipe is just as good as my other one...(remember my teacher end of year gifts back in May?)

So here's the spooky treats for the kids....the icing set overnight so if you were to ship these out they should send well....but they will be eaten before too long.....

I made an extra for baby Reid. (ok I'll eat it for him....)
and then I was playing around and made an egg on a grill and some candy corn cookies! The recipe made about 21 big cookies rolled 3/8"
I'll post the baby shower cookies in a few weeks!

My Boys.....(hubs not included in this one)

I love being a mommy....esp to my boys and my girls. Girls come easy I guess...I mean I am one after all (points down at growing belly to prove). I can easily play dress up and tea parties and twirl till I want to puke.

Boys are more of a challenge. Getting dirty isn't something I seek out to do. Playing cars and warriors I have a harder time being (I'm more the damsel in distress haha) But one thing I will tell you is that boys love their mommy's! I will never forget how easy babies my boys were. How sweet and loving and easy to please they were. How they would bring me those ISpy books and we'd sit on the floor for hours finding stuff in pictures. As they got older things changed and mommy wasn't the go to girl as much. I'm ok w/that. I have since realized the cycle is coming back. I love how my boys want to sit and visit w/me. Esp if it has to do with food! haha

Enter in child #1. 14 yrs old...5'10 and no end in sight. All leg and stomach and about 140lbs. He can eat like there is no tomorrow! Our food bill is mainly to keep him fed.

Typical conversation about food.

"Mom can I have a pumpkin muffin?"
"Yes"
"Can I have 2?"
"Sure"
"Can I have 4"
"Noooo silly...eat 2 and you can have more later"

Now you see why I triple batches of stuff. I normally freeze them and this is the first place the boy looks

yesterday....
"Mom did you know that my 2nd fav fruit, green apples being #1, are plums"
"well that's good b/c walmart had them on sale $.20 a lb and I bought a bunch"
"(cheers).....ohhhh man why didn't you buy like 4 bags full"
"I was afraid they would go to waste"
"well I'm about to eat like 6 of them...can you get more tomorrow"

Ohhhh to be able to have his appetite and stay as thin as a rail as him!

2nd Child

He's my sweet always looking for hugs little boy. Ok he's not little, but for a few more months he's my youngest boy until Reid comes...

My 6th grader who cracks me up.

Last night I'm checking homework and he had English and Math.

"what are you writing for English?"
"A how to story...I'm doing mine on How to Make Macaroni and Cheese"
"but you don't know how to make mac n cheese"
"yes I do...the kind you buy us in the small individual microwave servings"
(holds back giggles)"ok then can I see what you have written so far"

(hands me his paper)
I seriously can't help not laughing...
When I got to the part of tools needed to make the mac n cheese...he had a sink.
Basically he said something along the lines of "You will need a sink. I don't know what brand you need, but just make sure it works and water comes out."

That's my boy! I only hope his teacher thinks it was as funny as I did!

Blogger Girl Meet Up and The Cops Were Called...

Neely over at Chronicles of Neely.....tried putting together a blog meet for some of the girls that live in the North Dallas side....(anyone really) ...only 4 us could make it.....Taylor, Kelsey, and me....and of course Neely

Now I hadn't planned on bringing kids....(yes aly I know it was a grown up meeting) but first I was going to have to ...then hubs said he's be able to watch her....then Tay said she was bringing Lil Miss...so I decided to bring Lily for her....SHE DIDN'T END UP BRINGING LIL MISS...(yes I still want to spank you tk)

Luckily I brought Mini Me hoping that she would contain Lily long enough for me to visit. Lily was good ohhhhh for the first 10 mins while she ate her yogurt. Then her burst of energy kicked in. Which didn't make for a good visit. I think I caught about half the conversations and looked like a nut in the process...I hope the girls don't hold it against me on first impression.......but the story gets better!

Finally, I really Lily had had enough and I told the girls I was going to have to leave.

I said I'll be right back....I took Kate (who is almost 10) and Lily to the car (which was parked right out the windows) DID I MENTION IT WAS POURING RAIN???!

Turned the engine on...strapped Lily in..turned on Wonder Pets for Lily to watch....locked the doors and told Kate I would be back in 2 shakes...after we took our picture together and I got my purse. And that is exactly what we did.

We found some poor dude to take our picture....gathered our stuff (keeping in mind I'm in view of my car) and we go outside and stand under the awning in the rain saying goodbye....

That's when I notice a cop car pull up behind my car. I wave to the cop and head over there...He gets out and starts looking in my back window. I ask him what the problem is....He said he got a disturbance call that kids were left in a car.

OK WHAT??????????????????????? WHO COULD HAVE CALLED? I WASN'T REALLY GONE AND I WAS STANDING RIGHT THERE? HELLO KATE IS 4TH GRADE AND 10 FOR PETE'S SAKE.

I told the officer I understood he was only doing his job, but the engine was running (it was in the 50's w/pouring rain outside) that I ran in to say goodbye to my friends and didn't want the kids standing in the rain. In fact I told him he saw me standing there on the porch.

He said that b/c Kate was old enough and the temps outside were cool that it was ok...but not to do it again.

Ok first...I'm a great mom! One thing I take pride in is caring for my kids and there isn't anything I wouldn't do to make sure they are safe at all times.....so to the person who called the cops on me and then watched me standing there....

SHAME ON YOU!

how dare you! I get that if I was reckless and left them and went to the movies, but come on! I was standing there saying goodbye to ppl. Shame that you have nothing better to do w/ur time.

(ok I'm finished now)

I'd like a do over w/the girls so I can sit and visit....when's the next one?

As for the rest of the weekend? It was quick and hot after that!

Yesterday I baked....

Bacon, Egg, and Toast Cups

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 slices white or whole-wheat sandwich bread
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 6 large eggs
  • Coarse salt and ground pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly butter 6 standard muffin cups. With a rolling pin, flatten bread slices slightly and, with a 4 1/4-inch cookie cutter, cut into 8 rounds. Cut each round in half, then press 2 halves into each muffin cup, overlapping slightly and making sure bread comes up to edge of cup. Use extra bread to patch any gaps. Brush bread with remaining butter.
  2. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium, until almost crisp, 4 minutes, flipping once. (It will continue to cook in the oven.) Lay 1 bacon slice in each bread cup and crack an egg over each. Season with salt and pepper. Bake until egg whites are just set, 20 to 25 minutes. Run a small knife around cups to loosen toasts. Serve immediately.
  3. Standard muffin pans come in 6- or 12-cup size; if baking 6 items in a 12-cup pan, leave empty space in between. Nonstick pans are nice but not essential. Beware of very thin pans, which often lead to burning. Place pans on a baking sheet to make them easier to get in and out of the oven.

We changed it up a bit...I used French Bread w/the crust on.....just sliced and flattened and cut in half to overlap in muffin cups. I also added some shredded cheddar cheese on top when baking! I baked them a bit longer to make the eggs not runny (not sure the kids would have eaten them otherwise) TURNED OUT PERFECT. HUBS WENT IN FOR SECONDS.

Even child #2 had leftovers for breakfast this morning before school. Now I'm def making these again next weekend....they kept asking when we were having them again! WOOHOO

Toot'n In Your Sleep.....

I woke up this morning to rapid butt fire on my leg. I realized it was wild child's body pressed up against mine and smiled to myself. "AWWWW CUTE......she's toot'n in her sleep"

Then it struck me...... why is it that when our babies toot on us it's cute, but heaven forbid if our spouse did it, it would totally gross us out and we'd probably kick him out of bed? haha

So that is how I woke up this morning...Lily toot'n on my back and Reid kicking away at all my organs. Fine by me...I always like confirmation that he's still happy and healthy inside there...kick away my boy!

Heads up on the Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake....I thought it was fair. Good...but not something I'm ready to make again in the next few weeks. My kids loved it.....they polished it off last night after dinner and asked for more.

Speaking of dinner....

I found this recipe for Baked Potato Soup in a Sept 2010 issue of Family Circle. It looked quick and easy and yummy! Then again I love anything that requires a Crock Pot. I base how well a recipe does in our house by a few things

1. Hubs goes in for more (he's hard to please sometimes)
2. Kids go in for more
3. Kids ask for it again next week
4. I have zero leftovers
5. Ease of recipe

This met all of these....so here ya go

Baked Potato Soup
Ingredients
  • 3-1/2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cut into 3/4-inch pieces
  • 1 small sweet red pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 package (10 ounces) frozen chopped broccoli
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/3 cup half-and-half
  • 1/3 cup reduced-fat sour cream, plus additional for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1-1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 scallions, trimmed and thinly sliced
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Directions

Combine potatoes, red pepper and broccoli in slow cooker bowl. Pour broth over top; cover and cook 3 hours on HIGH or 6 hours on LOW or until potatoes are tender.

In a small bowl, stir together half-and-half, 1/3 cup sour cream, cornstarch, salt and pepper. Remove cover and mash potatoes slightly. Stir in half-and-half mixture and scallions. Spoon soup into bowls.

Divide bacon among bowls and dollop each with sour cream. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese, if desired.

Today my mom and I are headed back to Target to get the Owl Bedding for Lily's bed
We already bought this pillow to match
I thought this would match a camping theme for Reid's side of the room when they start sharing a room. We are huge hedgehog fans in this house and I couldn't help myself when I saw the Hedgie's on the comforter! haha

I'd kill for the matching big floor pillow...but mom's buying so I don't want to beg for everything!
PS...as for toot'n in bed...you know we all do it in our sleep......(wink)
PSS....I'm totally addicted to those Sweet Crisps from Corner Bakery....I think I polished off the package in one day! ugh!

Bellies and Beer

I missed last weeks photo!.....

25 weeks down and 15 to go! Seems like this is zooming by!
I bought the denim fabric this week and will start on the panels next week...so stay tuned for more curtain photos.

Here is one of the bedding put in the crib!
This week my mom and I are heading to the hardware store for some picket fence to put behind the crib. Now I just need to find someone to sew me a denim and bandana toy bag for the wall behind the crib. (I thought a little horsey hanging out over the bag would be cute too)

Soon...I'll buy the material for the lampshade and glider cushions to recover those....stay tuned!

My dear friends Tara and Taylor are throwing me a baby shower in the end of November! I'm sooooo blessed with such great friends and can't wait to finally get to meet and show baby Reid off to the world!!!

But for now...I just have to get through the next 15 weeks. Thankfully my mom is in town to visit and we have done nothing but laugh non stop! She's a hoot and good for the soul!

Today the inlaws are coming over for dinner and I'm making my Play Off Chili again. It's quick and easy and ohhhhhh so good for a crowd! But....it calls for a 12oz can of beer. Well I'm too embarrassed to buy it myself being hugely pregnant, so I made my mom get it while I was pumping gas today! She was sooo embarrassed too! She doesn't drink and felt weird I guess...But funnier yet...they don't sell it by the 12oz can....only 24 or bigger. Haha She walked out w/this huge can laughing so hard. I was wondering what was up! I said better you than me! haha

Dessert is going to be off the chart!

Chocolate Chip Bundt Cake

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 (12-oz.) package semisweet chocolate mini-morsels
  • Garnishes: whipped cream, cherries

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 350°. Stir together first 3 ingredients in a small bowl, using a fork. Sprinkle in a greased and floured 12-cup Bundt pan.

2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.

3. Beat butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla at medium speed with a heavy-duty electric stand mixer 3 to 5 minutes or until fluffy. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating just until blended. Add flour mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Beat at low speed just until blended after each addition, stopping to scrape bowl as needed. Beat in chocolate mini-morsels. (Mixture will be thick.) Spoon batter into prepared pan.

4. Bake at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes or until a long wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack 10 minutes; remove from pan to wire rack, and cool completely (about 1 hour). Garnish, if desired.

Rubber Frogs and Giant Balls....

My day starts around ...ohhhh when hubs alarm goes off. He's a snoozer....he sets the alarm for 5:15 and snoozes for over a hour. Me? Once it goes off I'm up. Trust me this has been a thorn in my side since we got married. I have never ever been a snoozer. So I've had to train myself to ignore it and block it out. Some days it works....while pregnant? Not so much. The alarm tells my bladder that once again it needs to go. Bladders and pregnancy are not things you can block out! :o)

Then I lay there until 6:45 when I hear oldest child's alarm go off in the next room....only to hear Mini Me's alarm go off at 6:51 (don't ask...she's like her momma) down the hall. So I'm officially up! I try and sneak out so little demon doesn't hear me, but this morning she got up with me. Not sure why...the little stinker was running wild until 10:30pm last night! (I require sleep...obviously someone in our family doesn't and she picked up their horrible trait)

I get 3 different kids out the door at 3 different times and then head home for a little breakfast/coffee time w/baby girl.

This morning I was really excited b/c I picked up a new creamer yesterday at the store. Sugar and Spice. I had the usual in the fridge already....(peppermint mocha and Italian Sweet Cream)
Got little girl's and my cinnamon toast ready ....and proceeded to pour my new sugar and spice creamer into the coffee....WHOA GAG ME .....NASTY NASTY. I have no earthly idea what that flavor is, but I'll tell you it isn't any sugar or spice I've ever had. It's like someone poured Pepto Bismol in my coffee! Whew....don't waste your money!

So...here is how I spend my mornings.....with a sweet little friend!
Today she decided to bring a few more friends to the table. She is addicted to rubber frogs lately?!!! Literally they have to go everywhere with us. Yard play...running errands....bathtime...mealtime....She's a hoot w/them!
Yes and giant marbles....don't panic....I'm with her and she's pretty good about not sticking stuff in her mouth. Besides...we are pretending they are frog food!

How do you spend your mornings?

Early Anniversary Date....

Love my In Laws....

Hubs and my anniversary is coming up next month...November 4th! I wanted to get away for the weekend...but hubs said Lily isn't ready. UMMMMMM HELLO I AM! Granted I'm still nursing her...she only gets it at nap and bedtime....I know she could miss it and not even bat an eyelash! But nope. I think it was more he wasn't ready to leave her!!!

Every weekend from now until after the new year was booked w/the family....so this weekend was the only weekend to have some hubby wife alone time. (ok day alone time)

My In Laws were in charge, and hubs and I bolted out the house at 10am...and didn't return until 7pm. I would have slipped in a movie, but....

If I told you how we spent our day you would think that was more a family type stuff...but keep in mind we didn't have any kids with us and could take our sweet time doing what we wanted, when we wanted, and for how long we wanted! We even had 2 meals together...and sat there for as long as we wanted! Ohhhh the little things you take for granted w/little ones!

Started off by heading to Mckinney for Trade Days. We hadn't been since I was pregnant w/Lily and had been dying to go back. Well it was a total bust and were glad we didn't have the kids....it was pretty lame this time. Boring......hot....and crowded! Hubs was missing Lily and had to buy her some toys. (a little mermaid for her bath time...she's really into mermaids right now)

We left and headed to do a little 2nd hand shopping! I didn't score any stuff for me and neither did hubs, but we found a ton of American Eagle and Gap stuff for the boys and spent $8! Totally awesome deals!!!

By evening hubs and I went to Maggiano's for a little Italian dinner....paid for by his parents. How sweet was that? We totally enjoyed our meal and brought some dessert home to share.

Lily had a spiffy day.....she was spoiled rotten by the grandparents. First they took her to the park to play....then off to Toys R Us for a little princess shopping....

Then they were off to the mall for lunch, carousel riding, and shoe shopping. Gotta love a woman who loves shoes...My MIL loves taking the girls to Nordstrom for good shoes. Lily came home w/a pile! Check these out! She's styling yet again!
I'm looking forward to another date night....this time I'm slipping in a movie and dinner! I feel a chick flick in my future!
I know that may not have sounded like an ideal date day to anyone else, but it's more about spending some quality time w/your spouse that really matters in the end!

TuTu Tuturial .....No Sew Elastic Waistband Method

I mentioned how I made Lily's tutu for last year. I used the no sew w/the ribbon method. Not really a fan of the ribbon since every few seconds I had to re-tie it!

This year I did the no sew elastic waistband method. At first I stitched the elastic together, but then it kept stretching and so I cut and re-stitched it at the end. Besides it's easier when not connected to keep the elastic from twisting when tying your tulle on!

* some of you were asking where I bought the tulle....I got mine at hobby lobby...it was on sale $1.99 for 25 yards....a spool was 25 yrds This took about 2 spools. 1 of each color!

Materials:
~elastic (I used 1/2" wide)
~scissors
~tulle on spool
~measuring tape
~needle and thread

I measured Lily's waist to be about 19" and cut the elastic 17" ....(again...I still think that was too big...so I ended up cutting the elastic and finished attaching the tulle and re-stitched it in the end)
I then wanted the skirt about 8-9" long ....
I measured each piece of tulle about 19" long (I'm going to be folding it in half)
Then I looped knotted the tulle on and pulled tight.
The skirt ended up being about 92 tulle pieces! Whew!
Mini Me now wants a longer skirt in pink and silver for her dance next month!

He Got a Little Edward On Me.....

Yesterday the kids were on holiday for Columbus Day, so I took advantage of having older kids around and used them as babysitters!!!

Got wild child down for a nap and ran to the front of the neighborhood for my $16 haircut by my guy who's been cutting my hair for 3 yrs now. Yep I said $16 and normally does a great job. But yesterday something happened.

I walked in as normal....he waves...I got my seat and told him (as I always do) "My hair is getting a bit stringy...I need to get the ends trimmed...you know how I like to keep my length and keep it long"
It's been a while since my last trim and my hair is getting really long and hubs and I really like it.

SO he gets to work and I'm glancing around the place...(it's a nail salon too) and I'm people watching through the mirror....I finally look at my hair and realize....WOW WAIT A MINUTE...THAT'S NOT A TRIM...THAT'S LIKE 3-4 INCHES. He was moving his hands so fast cutting...all I could think about was the scenes in Edward Scissorhands where he's moving so fast all you see is ice, hair, bushes, or whatever flying high. My guy was already so far into the cut there was no way I could shout stop....

I think he got a little Edward's on me. I really wanted to cry. I'm pregnant for Pete's sake and gaining weight. Shorter hair and my body don't mix. Deep sigh...whatever will hubby say.

I come home and try to fix my hair....deep sigh again.

By the time I call hubs to tell him the news of what I have done it's nearly 4. I decide to take a peek over the lid of the crock pot to see my sirloin tip that has been cooking since 7am.

I scream in horror! The temp light if flashing NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

You see I cook it on high for 1 hr and then drop it to low for 9hrs. I usually set the timer on the stove to remind myself. I programmed it for 1 hr at high and forgot to set the kitchen timer to remind me. I got so sidetracked w/having kids at home and getting them out the door for errands yesterday!

SO yep it went to warm....and I'm sure warm doesn't work for tons of hours. I cranked it to high real quick and went totally crazy upset with myself.

First, I'm a punk rock Edward Scissorhand freak....and now I've ruined dinner. I've got no backup either. You see most of the recipes take prep and time...or we are having company this week and I can't make that dish now.

Call hubs in tears. He tells me not to worry...(except hair...he asked me why I did it?....b/c I needed a trim and Lily was sleeping and big kids were home...perfect time to get a trim)

Well dinner wasn't ready by 7pm either so I headed to Panda Express! The kids were soooooooooooo excited I messed up dinner...they have been wanting Panda for ages now!!

By 10:30 last night dinner was finally ready. So I shredded the beef and I think I'm gonna freeze it now for next weeks meal! Deep sigh again and again!

Hoping today shows signs of good luck!

Been A Busy Bee...Whatcha Up To?

This would be the chicken mask that oldest child bought. Scares wild child to death so he can't wear it around the house. Top it off w/the child is allergic to latex...ummm guess the material of the mask?
WHATCHA BEEN DOING LAURA?

I've been busy! Or at least in my brain!

I found the denim material at Hobby Lobby for $7.99 a yard. I'll take my 40% coupon (if there is one this week) tomorrow and get some and start the curtain panels for Reid's room.

I did a little baking yesterday....3 ingredients...that's all!!
It made 2 1/2 dozen and not many are left. The boys inhaled them and even littlest demon has had 3 already!!!
Mix all together. Put in muffin liners...bake 350' for ohhh 25-28mins until toothpick comes out clean. Yummy

Then I got this awesomely adorable tutorial from Natalie over at The Busy Budgeting Mama...(who soooo could be my best friend in real life).....who got it from Alisa from The Sweet Life....(her's turned out better)

Here's mine

Ok so I forgot to buy some ribbon for the final step....but I found some hairbows of Mini Me's and just taped them to the stick ROFL....

This weekend daddy made Littlest demon a pip-ow (as she says) fort.....and Mini Me joined her in it. Then Wild child decided to climb on top of the pip-ows...and well yes, she went boom on the hard ground. Sniff sniff...she has a nice bump on her forhead...I'm sure any day the bruise will appear and get ugly! Just in time for Pumpkin Patch pictures.

Now I'm off to make a halloween tutu for Wild Child.....I was sooo super shocked that hobby lobby had any orange tulle left. Well they don't now...I bought the last 2 rolls!
